How to view your Hikvision cameras from a phone or computer when away from site, using Hik‑Connect (mobile/web) or the desktop software.

ℹ️ Remote viewing must be set up on the NVR/DVR first (Hik‑Connect enabled, or a secure connection configured by BBN). If it's never worked remotely, contact BBN — don't port‑forward cameras directly to the internet.

Phone — Hik‑Connect app (most common)

1. Install Hik‑Connect from the App Store / Google Play and sign in (or create an account, then have BBN share the device to it).
2. Your NVR/site appears in the device list — tap it to see the live camera grid.
3. Tap a camera to go full‑screen; use the timeline to play back recordings.
4. Not showing? The device may need adding by serial number or sharing to your account — contact BBN.

Computer — web / desktop

1. Hik‑Connect web: sign in at the Hik‑Connect portal with the same account to view devices shared to you.
2. iVMS‑4200 (desktop, technician/power user): add the device by Hik‑Connect account, or by IP/domain over the VPN, then view Main View and Remote Playback.

On‑site (local network)

• On the same network, browse to the NVR's IP in a web browser and sign in, or view directly on the monitor connected to the NVR.

If it won't connect remotely

1. Check the internet at site — if the site's internet is down, remote viewing won't work (local viewing still will).
2. NVR online? In Hik‑Connect the device shows Offline if the recorder lost internet/power — check it's on and networked.
3. Wrong account / not shared — ensure the device is added to *your* Hik‑Connect account or shared to it.
4. Escalate to BBN Support with the site name and whether local viewing (on‑site) works.

Prevention

• Keep the Hik‑Connect app updated; have BBN manage remote access securely (no direct internet exposure).
