Two-way messaging in Odoo chatter

Customer WhatsApp messages arrive in Odoo and appear on the matching partner record's chatter. Your team replies inside Odoo — the message goes back through WhatsApp. Conversation history stays attached to the customer forever, searchable alongside emails and notes.

Auto-create helpdesk tickets

When BBN Helpdesk is installed, inbound WhatsApp messages automatically create tickets. The 24-hour messaging window is tracked per conversation so you know when free-form replies are allowed vs when a template is required. Outbound tickets sent as messages follow the same thread.

Template management

Sync templates from Meta Business Manager. Preview with parameter substitution before sending. Track delivery, read, and reply rates. Template approval status synced automatically.

Chatbot + keyword routing

Configure keyword-based auto-responses. Route messages by keyword to different teams (SALES → sales team, SUPPORT → helpdesk). Time-based responses (out-of-hours auto-reply). All configurable without code.

Broadcast campaigns

Send one template to many contacts (opt-in list). Track per-recipient delivery, read, and response. Respects WhatsApp's messaging policies — template-only for contacts outside the 24-hour window.

Setup

BBN WhatsApp connects to Meta's Cloud API (the modern, supported path). Setup takes about an hour:

  1. Create a Meta Business account (free) and a WhatsApp Business App in Meta Business Manager
  2. Add a phone number (new or port from existing; $1-2/mo to Meta depending on country)
  3. Copy the App ID, App Secret, and Phone Number ID into BBN WhatsApp settings
  4. Configure the webhook (BBN WhatsApp auto-generates the URL)
  5. Verify business with Meta (one-time — speeds up over time)

Meta charges per conversation (free service conversations, small fee for marketing conversations — typically $0.05-0.15 per conversation depending on country). BBN charges a flat subscription for the integration, nothing per message.
